We held our Health Through Sport charity golf day at Pryors Hayes Golf Club. The players were competing for the 3rd Dixie Dean Golf Cup.

The course was looking in excellent condition, thanks to the ground staff and the food was first class. Well done to all the teams and players who participated in the event with some very good scores carded.

Congratulations must go to the aptly named Cheaters R Us but it was their quality with their golf clubs and not the pen that won the Cup for them :clap:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the day and special thanks to the ex Everton players Leon Osman, Derek Mountfield, James Vaughan and Graeme Stuart for playing and for taking part in the Q & A after lunch with Darren Griffiths.

Thanks to Pryors Hayes – Richard Barnes ( Owner ), Lesley, Rachael and staff for helping to put on a super day for our charity. Hope to see you all next year.

Take a look below at some of the shots taken on the day, we hope to see you all next year!

Congratulations must go to Go Direct Lettings, who are the winners of the second Dixie Dean Cup. Well done lads.

These are unprecedented times we are living in due to the COVID virus and it was inevitable that teams wouldn’t be able to attend our event, 10 teams couldn’t make it !!

The event still went ahead and it was a tremendous success.

It was great to see Leon Osman and Derek Mountfield competing against the other teams and making themselves available to other players for a chat, photos ( socially distanced ) and signing autographs. Thanks, lads.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pauline Cox of Wirral Ark for helping me to put this golf day together and to all of the companies and individuals for supporting the event.

To Gareth Irwin, general manager of Prenton Golf Club and his team for their professionalism in making the day run as smoothly as possible. The course was in excellent condition and this is down to the hard work put in by the ground staff. Many Thanks.

Not often people receive a text from Wayne Rooney but his return to Everton has given him a new lease of ‘blue life’ and Ronny was thrilled to hear from Wayne regarding the production of the Ball of Fire play.

In the text Wayne said:

Along with so many other Evertonians,my Dads favourite player was Alan Ball. I know he can’t wait to see the stage play ” Ball of Fire. It’s going to be a fantastic night”.  – Wayne Rooney.

Ronny thanking Wayne in reply also wished him well for the upcoming season in a blue shirt! Good Luck Wayne!

The latest renditions of the Ball of Fire play have started. The play depicts the life and times of the late great Alan Ball – a world cup winner and, at 21yrs old, the World cup final Man of the Match.

The play ventures through Alan’s life from when he was rejected by so many clubs (mainly due to his height) to becoming an Everton, Arsenal and England legend. It also tell’s tales of his managerial days on the South Coast and with Man City.

Starring our very own Ronny Goodlas (as Narrator), the play is a must for all Everton and England fans.

For more information or to book tickets, please visit www.blueparktheatrecompany.co.uk

Proceeds from the programmes on sale during each performance goes to Health Through Sport so please show you support and help a worthy cause.

10th March 2017…Hilton Hotel in Liverpool City Centre. Those present witnessed a fabulous night celebrating all things blue on Merseyside.

The night started with the introduction of our very own champion boxer, straight offf the back of a much lauded win against David Haye, Tony Bellew as he was greeted with great raptures from the entire audience.

The night didn’t end there and only got better as award after award were given out with Health Through Sport’s Ronny Goodlass scooping the ‘Everton Proud’ award. An achievement gained from the GSHOF team for Ronny’s work with the charity, involvement with the Everton Heritage Society and all other things Everton related. The award was presented to Ronny by former team mate and Everton legend Bob Latchford. Ronny really does do Everton Proud!

Ronny Goodlass Decembeard

As many of you know, Ronny decided to grow a beard during the month of December and in doing so attempted to raise money for the decembeard initiative, run by Beating Bowel Cancer, that aims to beat bowel cancer.

Ronny set a modest £250 target, not expecting the level of immense generosity that he actually did receive from Evertonians, the people of Merseyside and much further afield (with donations coming in from Australia and the United States of America).

At the end of the month, Ronny managed to raise a staggering £2,812.96 + gift aid (totalling approx £3,375!), some 1125% above the original target! An amazing result I’m sure you agree!

Ronny would like to extend his thanks to everybody that supported decembeard and especially to those that donated their hard earned cash to the bowel cancer fight!

Thank you!

The next sportsperson’s dinner has been set for 12th May 2017 and will be held in the wonderful surroundings of the Devonshire House Hotel, off Edge Lane in Liverpool. Entry is strictly ticket only. As always, ticket holders will experience the night close to all the action with allocated seating, large screens to watch the DVDs, tv footage and photos of our special guest and of course enjoy a 3 course meal (with Tea & coffee!) followed by a charity raffle and auction.

The dinner, entitled ‘the Unforgettable Hero’ will pay a much deserved tribute to the great Tony Kay – remembering that he was an Everton player, Everton Captain, Everton League Winner and England International.

For those fortunate to have witnessed Tony play, he was held in high esteem as a skilful, creative wing half – integral part to the league winning side in 1962/63 – the first Everton team to win the league post WW2.

Furthermore, Tony has been a great advocate of the Charity and its events, regularly attending and supporting them over the years. This is therefore our chance, and yours, to say thank you to a true Everton great. Don’t miss out!

As if a tribute to Tony Kay isn’t enough, we also have booked an after dinner speaker/comedian that is considered the very best on the circuit in Dr Kevin Jones.

Tickets for the event are available by calling 0151 264 6600 or by emailing us via the contact page – the dinner events are popular so please ensure you book early to avoid disappointment!
